Christina Saunders I Executive Director

Christina’s father, Art, was honored by Humor to Fight the Tumor in 2011 before passing away from glioblastoma in 2012. Throughout his illness, humor became one of the ways her family found moments of connection, hope, and joy—making HTFT’s mission deeply personal to her. Her oldest son, Arthur "Bo," is named in honor of his grandfather, carrying his legacy into the next generation.

Before joining Humor to Fight the Tumor, Christina served as Executive Director of ACES (Athletes Committed to Educating Students), where she led organizational growth, expanded fundraising, and increased the nonprofit’s impact over nine years. She previously held leadership roles in education and began her career as a teacher in New York City public schools. Christina holds two master’s degrees in education.

She lives in South Minneapolis with her husband, Alex, their two sons, Bo and Petey, and their lovable rescue pup, Lula. As Executive Director, Christina is passionate about advancing innovative brain tumor research, strengthening support for patients and families, and ensuring no one faces a brain tumor diagnosis alone.
